More Free Week 4 Bets

September 29th, 2010 No comments

We love Week Four, therefore we are going to give you a few more of our favorite bets for the week. Yesterday we gave you three that we loved, so we will keep with the common theme and give you three more today:

Washington is +6 at Philadelphia. This game seems like it should very easily favor the Eagles. Washington has been bad on the road, losing to the Rams in week 3. But Donovan McNabb will show up in this game. You know he wants nothing more than to hurt his former team. Look for McNabb to throw for just shy of 300 yards, and keep this game close. Take the Redskins +6 this week at Philadelphia!

Houston and Oakland will get together. The Texans are 2-1, and the Raiders are 1-2.  The line has started at Houston -3, and it looks to be climbing. But what we like here is the over/under. Sure, Matt Schaub and the Texans can score points, but the offense without a healthy Andre Johnson is not THAT lethal. The over/under is 43.5, we LOVE the under. Oakland can’t score, and even if they do – expect 17 – no more from them. We like a close game; 24-17. Take the UNDER 43.5 in the Houston Texans vs. Oakland Raiders game.

Denver @ Tennessee. The Titans are a 6.5 point favorite in the game. This is a game where Chris Johnson will absolutely go off. Look for Johnson to pick up over 150+ yards on the ground. Denver has struggled recently, and look for the struggles to continue. In fact, the Broncos will trot out Tim  Tebow for a drive in this game. If you want to win during week four of NFL, bet the Tennessee Titans -6.5 at home over the Denver Broncos.

Good luck, and we look forward to giving you detailed bets on Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football later in the week!

NFL Week 4 Free Picks

September 28th, 2010 No comments

What a wild, wacky week three it was, ending with the Chicago Bears taking down the Green Bay Packers. While we did not have a sensational week three of picks, we righted the ship, and are ready to get back to domination in week four.

Our first game includes the Baltimore Ravens at the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers are a 1.5 point favorite, but we are STAYING AWAY FROM THAT. What we like here is the over/under. The Ravens have found a bit of a groove offensively, with the Joe Flacco to Anquan Bolden connection. Ray Rice is due for a big game, and we like the Ravens to score some points. Pittsburgh has been torn down all season, but they are not bad. Charlie Batch led the Steelers to 38 points in a win in week three. The over/under for this game is set at 34.5. We LOVE the over. We are looking at a 21-20, or even a 20-17 game. Take the OVER and be happy you read this!

A second piece of action we like is in the New York Jets at Buffalo Bills game. This may appear to be trap action, but come on. The Jets are playing well, and Buffalo is brutal. New York is a five point favorite. Our suggestion is to get on this one early and take the Jets – 5. Even if this moves to 6.5, do not be afraid to take the Jets. Jets roll in this one.

The last game we like for week four is the Rams hosting Seattle. Pete Carroll’s team has been atrocious on the road in recent years, and St. Louis comes in with momentum. The line is very close for this one; Seattle – 1. Take the Rams in this one to cover the spread and win the game.

We will be back later in the week with some more picks, but that’s all for now! Enjoy!

Sunday Night + Monday Night Football Picks

September 25th, 2010 No comments

It’s time for us to make our Sunday Night and Monday Night Football picks. These are two tremendous games, that are most assuredely going to provide some fireworks. The Sunday Night game of the week features Rex Ryan and his New York Jets heading to South Beach to take on Tony Sparano and his Miami Dolphins. On Monday Night Football, the NFC North is up for grabs when the Green Bay Packers invade Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears. Both of these games provide the closest odds during week three.

The Jets come into the game after beating their hated rival the New England Patriots. This was what some called a must win game, as they lost in week one. New York’s run game has been revitalized by the former Chargers star LaDainian Tomlinson. Tomlinson leads the team with 138 rushing yards. Miami leads the AFC North, after winning their first two games of the season. The Dolphins held both Buffalo and Minnesota to just 10 points in the two road wins. As we enter the weekend, the Miami Dolphins are listed as the favorite in this game. For some reason(they are more talented), we like the Jets to come out and not only cover this game, but win it straight up. Take the Jets +2.5, and also look into the moneyline for New York.

On Monday Night, the Green Bay Packers come into Chicago as a field goal favorite. The Packers and Bears are both 2-0, so the winner will have the upper hand in the division. Green Bay is scoring 30.5 points per game, while allowing just 13.5. Aaron Rodgers has been sensational, despite losing his top running back threat Ryan Grant. Rodgers is 38 of 60 for 443 yards and 4 touchdowns on the season. Chicago, after barely escaping week one over Detroit, went to Dallas and beat the Cowboys. Jay Cutler has had a nice start to the season, throwing for 649 yards and 5 touchdowns. We love Green Bay in  this one. We think the Packers will win, and it won’t be close. Also, Green Bay’s defense will slow down the Bears – so take the under (46).

We look forward to collecting our money on Tuesday!

Week 3 Free Picks

September 22nd, 2010 No comments

As we get to week three, the National Football League begins to seperate the men from the boys. Many playoff teams rise to the top immediately; we have the group that are contenders, those that are pretenders and those(cough, Buffalo Bills) that are just flat out terrible. Through two weeks we’ve seen enough to establish some pretty good opinions on a few teams. Here is what we like for Sunday – Week Three.

We love Pittsburgh – 2.5 at Tampa Bay. Sure, both teams are 2-0, so you would expect a real good, tight game. The Steelers are starting Charlie Batch(who?), yes, Charlie Batch at quarterback. So what! Pittsburgh is good; in fact really good defensively. Mike Tomlin moves his team to 3-0 and control to hold control of the AFC North. Take the Steelers -2.5, on the road.

Cincinnati goes to Carolina. Bengals are 1-1 with a big win over Baltimore, and the Panthers not only cannot win, but they cannot score. The over/under for this game has started out at 38. We love the under in this game. The Panthers play pretty good defense, and despite Cincinnati’s ability to throw the long ball – we still love the under. Look for a 21-13 win from the Bengals, which would nail the under. Take the under in the Cincinnati/Carolina game, and if you are feeling really brave – take the Bengals to cover the -3 spread.

The last Sunday afternoon game that we like features Detroit and Minnesota. If you look up the word turible in the dictionary, a week two picture of Brett Favre will appear. The Vikings are 11 point favorites over the Lions. Sure, Minnesota will be pissed off, after starting 0-2, and in fact, Minnesota will win this game, but the 2010 Lions are a team that can play you close – and that is what they will do. Look for a 28-24 win from Minnesota. Take Detroit + 11 against Minnesota on Sunday,

Check back later in the week for the Sunday Night game featuring the J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS and Dolphins, and also for the big NFC North battle between DA BEARS and Green Bay on Monday Night.

Monday Night Football Free Pick

September 20th, 2010 No comments

After a fun weekend of collegiate football, and then our domination of NFL Sunday, there is nothing better to do than make our bets for Monday Night Football. The Monday Night Football game features the Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints taking on a very irritated San Francisco 49ers.

First, and foremost, New Orleans comes into the game as a five point favorite, despite being on the road. TAKE THE SAINTS TO WIN THIS GAME. The New Orleans Saints are just THAT good. Five points on the road? Yes! Singletary may be ticked, but when you are outmanned, you are outmanned.

The over/under for this game is 44. We like a 28-21 game, so therefore we are recommending the over in this game. The Saints very easily could score 35 themselves, which would mean Frank Gore, Vernon Davis and the crew would have to tabbed atleast 10. We like the over in this game.

We don’t usually do this – but we are going to give you some additional bets to make on the Monday Night Football game. First, take the Saints in the first half as well. New Orleans usually jumps off to a quick start, and the -3 is something that looks juicy and will pay off. Look for a 14-7 Saints lead at half.  Take the Saints 1st half on Monday Night Football.

Lastly, some prop bets can be made here. Completions by Drew Brees is set at 24.5. Typically, we like the over on this one - and in this we STILL like the over. Look for Brees to go about 27 of 38 in this one .Take the over 24.5 completions for Drew Brees.

Touchdown passes for Brees is only 1.5. This is like stealing. YES, Brees will throw over 1.5 touchdowns. Easiest bet you will make – take the over on 1.5 Brees touchdown passes.

Lastly, will Alex Smith throw an interception or touchdown pass first. Well, we don’t like Smith to throw ANY touchdowns, as Gore will do the scoring for San Francisco, so the answer to this question to us is INTERCEPTION.

Happy Monday Night Football betting! Can’t wait to start handicapping week 3!

Additional 2010 NFL Season Week Two Picks

September 15th, 2010 No comments

Upon further review, we are ready to lock into some additional week two NFL betting picks. Aside from the picks we had yesterday, here are a few more that we like for week two, including a few surprising selections that will undoubtedly bring in some nice money aboard the money truck!

Chiefs (+1.5) versus Browns (-1.5)

Call us suckers, but we liked the way the Kansas City Chiefs played on Monday Night. A win over San Diego is nothing to ignore. Sure, Kansas City was at home, and the atmosphere inside their new stadium was rocking – but hey,  the Chiefs came out and looked like a pretty solid football team.

The fact that the Chiefs are UNDERDOGS against a Cleveland team that once again looked poor in week one is astonishing.  The Browns have never regained the luster they had a few years ago when Derek Anderson pulled off his only decent season as QB for the team, and since being acquired by the Cards the only thing that has been able to lift the town’s football spirits has been – well, errrr – well nothing really…

In short, TAKE THE CHIEFS to cover this +1.5 on the road – and while you are at it, throw some money on the over 38 – The Chiefs will score 27 on their own!

Ravens (-2.5) versus Bengals (+2.5)

Baltimore – 1.5 @ Cincinnati is a very intriguing line. Baltimore looked good enough to win at the New Meadowlands in week one, but are they good enough to make it two in a row?  The offense looked sketchy at best, but most are hoping to see a better motivated Joe Flacco move the offense a little better than he did against the Jets last week.  The play of Anquan Boldin was very promising and he looked like he was definitely ready to take over the #1 receiver position on the team.  If Ray Rice can turn it up a little more on the ground they should have a better chance at scoring some points this time around.

Cincinnati got smashed in Foxboro in week one.  There were a few bright spots from the receiving tandem of Ochocinco and Owens, but they’ll need to play more in sync this time around to earn the “W.”  Carson Palmer has never lost the ability to be a great quarterback, and his receiving core should only bolster that this weekend against the short-handed backfield in the Ravens’ secondary.

Anyways, definitely take the underdog here. Cincinnati is THAT much tougher at home, and Baltimore – playing on their short week – will not be as sharp defensively.

Look for Palmer and the boys to beat the Ravens. Take the Bengals +1.5 on Sunday!

Chargers (-7) versus Jaguars (+7)

This pick may come back and bite us come Sunday evening, but we really like the San Diego Chargers to bounce back from their week one debacle.

The Chargers are a 7.5 point favorite, at home, with the Jaguars. 7.5 is a little scary, because of the ability to back door cover near the end of the game. But, not sure it’s going to matter. Phillip Rivers is STILL yelling at a teammate, and it will get figured out.

The Chargers will win this one BIG.  Take the Chargers -7.5 over the Jaguars on Sunday!

2010 NFL Season Week 2 Early Odds and Picks

September 14th, 2010 No comments

It’s never too early to get your action in on the best NFL Betting Sites out there. Sure, week one just ended late last night, or for some, early in the morning – but no need to dwell on one week, it’s time for week two!

Certainly, week one was a surprising one, seeing some teams that we thought may suck, show up and play well – and win – and also some teams we thought were poised to have a solid season – well, pretty much suck it up. So, the NFL looks unpredictable this season. In saying that, here are a few of our sure shots for week two:

Packers versus Bills (-12.5)

You got to love the Green Bay Packers. Buffalo is terrible, or as Charles Barkley would say “turrible”. The line is pretty juicy for Buffalo at -12.5, but we are not sure the Bills will even score on the Packers “D”. Aaron Rodgers had a good week one, but we expect he will just continue to get better.

Look for the Packers to roll and cover the nearly two touchdown spread on Sunday afternoon at noon.

Cowboys versus Bears (+7)

The Chicago Bears are not very good, but are 1-0, and will cover their week two spread. Coming into the week, Chicago is a nine point underdog, at Dallas. The Cowboys were atrocious on Sunday night, and have many offensive problems. Look for Cutler to keep the Bears in the game, especially if third year running back Matt Forte looks as good as he did in week one.

Take the Bears to cover +7 to +7.5 on Sunday against the Cowboys!

Colts (-5.5) versus Giants

Our last free pick for week two is the Indianapolis Colts to cover a 5.5 point spread at home, against the New York Giants. This is a battle of the Manning brothers, if you didn’t know that, they will certainly tell you Sunday night(over, and over, and over, and over again). The Colts are ticked. A divisional foe knocked them off and week one, and they have some proving to do.

While the Colts are not the juggernaut that they once were, they still are pretty darn good. The Giants are coming off a win over a Panthers team that will struggle to win games this season. Look for the Giants defense to get carved up by Manning, Addai and the rest of the crew Sunday night.

Take the Colts to cover 5.5 against New York.

Remember, these are our initial thoughts. You can take advantage of where the lines are at now, or wait until closer to game time, and they could change a few points. Be sure to check back later in the week – heck, maybe we will have a change of heart!

Monday Night Football Winners for Week 1

September 10th, 2010 No comments

Are you ready for some football?   Week 1 of Monday Night Football in the NFL is always a great one. This year, MNF features two great games. The Ravens travel to New York to play the Jets followed by the Chargers at the Chiefs. You do not want to miss out betting on these great NFL games so read our analysis and take our free picks to the bank!

The first pick for this Monday Night is the Jets (-2.5) over the Ravens. Both the New York Jets and the Baltimore Ravens have been highly touted as two of the top teams this upcoming season. The Jets are coming off a nice playoff run and have been the center of nearly every offseason discussion. Cover corner Derell Revis has ended his 36-day holdout and has finally signed an extension – meaning he should be ready to go against the newly loaded Baltimore Ravens offense.

The Ravens beefed up their receiving core by adding WR Anquan Boldin from the Cardinals and WR TJ Houshmanzadah from the Seahawks/Bengals. Add these two with Joe Flacco and RB Ray Rice and you have a nice little team. But the Jets added just as much or more. They added all pro RB Ladainian Tomlinson along with some defensive help in Jason Taylor. Mark Sanchez, now in his second year is ready to prove to the NFL world that the Jets are for real. The Jets are at home and should have great crowd support and a lot of momentum. If they can keep Ray Rice from going crazy we like them to win and cover this game.

Bet on the Jets -2.5

The second pick from week 1 Monday Night Football is the Chargers (-4.5) at the Chiefs. Another road favorite who is clearly better than the home team yet barely favored. Seems to be the trend for the week 1 NFL odds. Once again, we like the small road favorite to cover this game and go 1-0 on the young season. The Chiefs have a long way to go before they can compete with the big boys. The Chargers are already one of the big boys. The only question mark in my mind is how will rookie RB Matthews do against this Chiefs defense. We think Rivers and crew will overcome the youth in the running game and take the Chargers to victory.

Bet on the Chargers -4.5

Week 1 NFL Sunday Odds & Predictions

September 10th, 2010 No comments

It’s back!!! This Sunday is the start of the first big NFL weekend of the 2010 season! The Week 1 NFL odds are out and we have some free picks that will boost your bankroll. If you followed our preseason picks at all you know how we operate and we only release solid picks. Of course they all can’t win, but if the majority do it’s a good thing. Let’s get to the Week 1 NFL odds and predictions.

First of all, everyone and their brother is picking the Colts -2.5 @ Texans and the Packers -3 @ Eagles this week. These may look juicy but trust us – they are sucker bets. Stay away from these in week 1 especially because there is a reason the line is set so low. Here are three solid picks for this week one Sunday.

1) We love the San Francisco 49ers -3 @ Seattle Seahawks. If you have followed the Seahawks at all over the last few years you know this is a franchise on the downslide. Everything seems to be going wrong. They have no stud feature back. The quarterback situation is starting to become a mess. They signed the then released their best WR Houshmanzadah. What else is left? Nothing – that’s the point. The 49ers are ready to let their defense loose and pounce all over the Seahawks. We like the 49ers not only to cover the 3 but to win in a blowout.
Bet on San Francisco -3

2) Miami is another team in a very similar situation to San Fran. They play a worse team, on the road, and come in as -3 favorites. We like the Dolphins a lot this year and think just the opposite of the Bills. Look for Miami to use their ground attack and pound the run against the Bills. Buffalo is hurting at the RB spot and might have to rely on a rookie to fill that role. The subtraction of Terrell Owens will also hurt more than the Bills think. Final score is Miami Dolphins 27 and Buffalo Bills 20.
Bet on Miami -3

3) The last game on our slate this week could prove to be a controversial pick. We like the Washington Redskins +3.5 at home against the Dallas Cowboys. The Redskins have a new coach (Shannahan), a new quarterback (McNabb) and are focused and ready to start winning. McNabb knows how to win in this league and if the runningback crew of Portis and Larry Johnson can do anything at all – the Skins should be fine. The Cowboys are very similar to what they were last year. And at times, this team looked very mediocre offensively. We see this game being fairly low scoring with the Skins pulling out a late home victory.
Bet on Washington +3

There you have it. The week 1 NFLBettingBlog odds and predictions are in the books. Be on the lookout for our Week 1 Monday Night Football odds and picks soon as well. Good luck and happy betting.

2010 NFL Season Opener Odds – FREE Vikings vs Saints Pick

September 8th, 2010 No comments

The NFL regular season has finally arrived! The season opener is between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints. This match-up takes place at the Superdome at 8:30 pm. This is the rematch of the highly exciting NFC Championship Game that resulted in an overtime win by the Saints, 31-28. I would expect the energy for this game to be equal to that of their last match-up with it being the opener and with the Vikings wanting to even the score. The Vikings vs Saints Predictions, Spread, and Betting Oddscan be found below!

The Vikings finished off their preseason with a win over the Broncos. Brett Favre did not take any snaps in this game and Adrian Peterson didn’t get any carries. I expect the Vikings to utilize the running game on the Saints in order to expose their mediocre run defense. Brett Favre is going to miss the inclusion of Sidney Rice from the lineup who recently had hip surgery. Greg Camarillo has come over from the Dolphins to solidify the receiving corps in his absence. A key to this game is gong to be the effectiveness of the Vikings pass defense which last season was average at best. The Vikes have proved that they can stop the run but the Saints are an explosive passing team and that could cause them problems in this game.

The Saints completed their preseason with a loss to the Titans.  Coming into this opener, the Saints roster is looking very similar to their Superbowl winning team that beat the Colts in February.  One key addition is DE Alex Brown who came over from the Bears this off-season.  Look for him and DE Will Smith to get some pressure on Brett Favre early in the game and make him remember the beating he took in the Championship game. The key for the Saints in this game is how they can contain Adrian Peterson.  In the Championship game, Peterson ran for 122 yards and 3 touchdowns. They are going to want to prevent those kind of numbers if they want to win this game. The Saints have some pressure on their shoulders as the reigning champs and it should be interesting to see if they can handle it or not.

Vikings vs Saints Spread and Betting Odds

___________________________________________

Spread:

Minnesota Vikings +5

New Orleans Saints -5

Game Total:

Over 48

Under 48

Vikings vs Saints Predictions

___________________________________________

Game Total Prediction – These offenses were both top 5 offenses last season and proved that they can put up huge points. However, the last 3 Thursday night season openers have been under the game total. This may be due to first game jitters or some other factors. . I think 48 points is just a bit too much for this game.

PREDICTION – UNDER 48

Spread Prediction -  The key to whether the Vikings can cover the spread in this game is Brett Favre. Can he shake off the demons of the NFC Championship game? Is he as physically fit as he was last year. Has he had enough quality reps in this preseason to get him back into the groove of NFL level play?  The answers to these questions will be evident by the end of this game. In my opinion, I don’t think Favre will be as accurate in this game and I think it will take him a game or two to get back into the flow of things.

PREDICTION – NEW ORLEANS -5
